The weather is set to change on Monday. Ahead of a cold front, conditions will be changeable from the start, with plenty of cloud and some sunshine. Whilst it will remain mostly dry in the morning, from midday onwards there will be frequent showers and isolated thunderstorms, initially in the west and north and later spreading to the rest of the country; the sun will be rarely seen. The westerly wind will pick up significantly as the day progresses, reaching peak speeds of around 50 km/h in the afternoon, particularly in the Flachgau region. Morning temperatures will range between 5 and 13 degrees C, with maximum temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees C already being reached by mid-morning.

Rain or snow will continue to fall until mid-morning on Tuesday. A few light showers are expected later on, and the sun is likely to make frequent appearances, particularly in the afternoon. The snow line will initially be between 800 and 1,200 metres, rising to between 1,200 and 1,400 metres as the day progresses. There will be a brisk westerly wind at times, with a strong northerly foehn wind picking up in the Lungau region. It will be quite cold for the time of year. Morning temperatures will range between 2 and 6 degrees C, with maximum temperatures between 4 and 10 degrees C.

On Wednesday, cloudy and sunnier spells will alternate, and it should remain mostly dry. Following a fairly clear night, widespread ground frost is expected in the morning, with air frost also likely in many Alpine valleys. Morning temperatures will range from -4 to 4 degrees C, with maximum temperatures between 12 and 17 degrees C.

On Thursday, the weather is expected to be changeable, with a mix of sun and clouds, and frequent showers are likely in the afternoon. The day will start off frosty again in some Alpine valleys. Morning temperatures will range from -1 to 7 degrees C, with highs of between 11 and 14 degrees C.
