The new week will start with plenty of sunshine in most parts of the country, with patches of low fog clearing quickly in most areas. Only parts of northern Flachgau region will see persistent high fog causing cloudy conditions. Low temperatures: -14 to -5 °C, high temperatures: -1 to +6 °C.

On Tuesday, clouds will prevail from the outset, with the last patches of sunshine in the Tauern valleys and Lungau region closing in soon. Intermittent snow showers will spread across large parts of the country, but snowfall will be more persistent in the northern barrier areas (between Loferer Steinberge and Gosaukamm). The north-westerly wind will be strong at times, with gusts of around 50 km/h. Lowest temperatures: -11 to -3 °C, highest temperatures: -6 to +1 °C.

On Wednesday, there will be some sunshine at first. However, thick clouds will gradually move in from the north. During the afternoon, snow showers will spread across large parts of the country. The north-westerly wind will be brisk to strong, with gusts of up to 70 km/h in the Lungau region. Lowest temperatures: -14 to -4 °C, highest temperatures: -5 to +1 °C. From today's perspective, New Year's Eve will also see intermittent snowfall, with the wind continuing to be a factor, especially in the Lungau region, albeit at a reduced intensity.
