From the middle of April, you will find an overview of the situation of all participating 2021 SL Card attractions here. You can currently also still find the overview map from 2020 (which will differ in a few attractions from the current season). From the end of April 2021, you can take a look at the new brochure for the 2021/22 seasons, which shows all the detailed information about the excursion destinations.

TIP: Either benefit from a 24-hour Salzburg Card OR enjoy a free trip on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road! The choice is yours!

History The original St. Andrew’s Church used to stand on the Platzl, but ultimately had to be demolished to make way for a wider road. The new Andräkirche was built in Neo Gothic style on Mirabellplatz and was formally consecrated in 1898. During the Second World War, the church was partially destroyed in a bombing raid. A few years after the war, they began rebuilding the church in a more simplified form. 1969/70 saw a major remodeling: The towers were shortened and capped off with flattish pyramid-shaped roofs, while the front of the church acquired a light-grey and white coloration. Architecture and Interior The interior of St. Andrew’s Church in Salzburg reflects the modified pietistic style of today, characterized by few accent features. Located inside this church, which was first documented in 1470, are ceiling paintings by Seraphin Lederwasch, as well as a well preserved an still-functional organ made by the Mauracher organ-building family. The church also possesses an old clock- and chiming mechanism, as it does bells which must be rung by hand. There is noc electricity. It is believed that a heathen temple was once located at this same site: the remains of ancient walls were discovered during construction work, while the building's entire structure was oriented towards sunrise at the spring equinox.
