The voyage of discovery can begin.

From the middle of April, you will find an overview of the situation of all participating 2021 SL Card attractions here. You can currently also still find the overview map from 2020 (which will differ in a few attractions from the current season). From the end of April 2021, you can take a look at the new brochure for the 2021/22 seasons, which shows all the detailed information about the excursion destinations.

 

TIP: Either benefit from a 24-hour Salzburg Card OR enjoy a free trip on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road!  The choice is yours!

    History of Mozarteum UniversityThe roots of Mozarteum University go back to the year 1841.  The Salzburg Cathedral Music Society and Mozarteum were founded on the 50th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s death. Initially, the music school was intended to groom the next generation of musicians who would be serving at Salzburg Cathedral. Over time, such prominent figures as Carl Orff and Nikolaus Harnoncourt would leave their own mark on the Mozarteum. In 1988, the former music school was elevated to university status. Courses of StudyMozarteum University offers degree programs in music as well as the visual and performing arts. Around 1500 students are able to select from more than 40 different artistic and educational study programs. Some 500 teachers, including many famous performers, pass on their knowledge.     This mountain hut has been owned by the Dürlinger family since around 1830. A visit to the Unterbergalm is especially recommended for families with children and prams. The hut can easily be reached from the mountain station of the MK Maiskogel gondola lift in just a 30-minute walk along a flat forestry lane. Once at the hut, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent mountain views as you sip on a glass of fresh alpine milk or a mug of homemade elderberry juice. For your return trip, we recommend taking along a treat or two from the various products that are produced right there at the hut. Closed on Wednesdays!

    A picturesque alpine pasture with home made cheese specialities! The Unterbergalm presents itself as a traditional hut on a steep slope. While you enjoy home made products from the own farm on the terrace, you are enchanted by the magnificent views of the Dietersbach valley, the Große (Hohe) Arche (2,453 m) and the Kitzbühel Alps/Pinzgau Grasberge. So you can reach the hut: Comfortably by cable car: Ascent with the MK Maiskogelbahn possible. From the top station the alpine pasture can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot via the flat forest road (suitable for prams). By mountain bike: From Kaprun follow the mountain bike path no. 11G to the Unterbergalm. As a hike: Starting from Hummersdorf (Piesendorf) on trail no. 14A or 14B to the Unterbergalm.

Since the 20th anniversary of the show-mine in 2009, there is a genuine pile-work in the immediate vicinity of the Knappenstube, which can be used to demonstrate how difficult it was for the miners to extract the ore from the excavated rock. In the winter it is not possible to visit the Schaubergwerk, but it is worth a walk or a romantic sleigh ride to the Knappenstube! From the parking lot "Forsthofalm" it is about 2.5 km forest road to the Unterberghaus (with a pleasant slope).
