    walking trails: Elisabethpromenade

From the train station in Bad Gastein or the valley terminal of the Stubnerkogel lifts, this promenade leads south to Böckstein. The extremely sunny Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Promenade takes you along the banks of the Gasteiner Ache. Since the flat path runs along both sides of the stream, it also lends itself as a bit of a hiking loop. One rewarding attraction along the way is the baroque pilgrimage church "Maria vom guten Rat" in Böckstein. Duration approx. 1 hour from Bad Gastein to Böckstein

    walking trails: Kaiser-Wilhelm-Promenade

The Kaiser-Wilhelm-Promenade begins to the right of the parish church in Bad Gastein. The bust of Emperor Wilhelm reminds us of the prominent guests this valley welcomed in the past. Promenading here back then was the hight society of its day - eager to see and be seen. Pavillons and lookout platforms are relicts of those summer getaways of the rich famous. The view over the imposing buildings in Bad Gastein and the view over Bad Hofgastein is fascinating. Be sure not to forget some food for the squirrels along the way, who might well eat the nuts right out of your hand.

Wallfahrtskirche Maria Plain - Pilgrimage Church Maria Plain
