From the middle of April, you will find an overview of the situation of all participating 2021 SL Card attractions here. You can currently also still find the overview map from 2020 (which will differ in a few attractions from the current season). From the end of April 2021, you can take a look at the new brochure for the 2021/22 seasons, which shows all the detailed information about the excursion destinations.

TIP: Either benefit from a 24-hour Salzburg Card OR enjoy a free trip on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road! The choice is yours!

Winter on the Schmittenhöhe

The Schmittenhöhe, Zell's local mountain, is a real all-rounder in winter: here, beginners on skis feel just as comfortable as passionate piste pros, families and returning skiers. A total of 77 kilometres of pistes and perfectly groomed downhill runs await you here. Those who want to give their skis a break will also find marked winter hiking trails on the Pinzgau adventure mountain, and guided snowshoe tours take place here several times a week. The numerous huts on the mountain are ideal for a stop in between. Enjoy the sun and the spectacular panorama: from the Schmitten you can see Lake Zell, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and more than 30 three-thousand-metre-high peaks.

The winter toboggan run on the Karkogel mountain winds through a beautiful winter forest with plenty of clearings that offer beautiful views of Abtenau and the amazing Austrian Alps. A special experience is tobogganing on evening with floodlit. The nearby restaurants and ski huts will tempt you to stop in and grab a bite to eat. Who does not have a toboggan can also rent them at the valley station of the Karkogel cable car. 1 h, 150 e.g. The trip up the mountain with the Sonnenalm cable car and then the Sonnkogel lift is to be recommended. A part of the walk in this direction can be substituted by taking the Hochzeller lift. The winter walking path begins at the top station of the Sonnkogel lift and runs along the mountain ridge to the Hochzeller lift. Guests can travel over this steep part comfortably with the Hochzeller lift ( it is included in the price of the cable car lift pass). The path then continues further from the top station of the Hochzeller lift to the top station of the Schmittenhöhe cable car.

30 min, 150 e.g. The winter walking path starts at the top station of the Areit lll lift and follows the snow fence behind the Elizabeth Chapel on the Schmittenhöhe. From there you can either walk back to the top station of the Areit lll or walk on further to the Sonn-kogel (approx. 1 hour walking time, with the Sonnkogel- and the Sonnenalm lift), and take the Schmittenhöhe cable car back down to the valley.
