Under the motto “”Wood is Life, Myth and Nature” Kuchl has become the town of wood. Great significance is attributed to wood as a material. The timber professionals of the future are trained here in many educational institutions and schools. Every three years, the town of Kuchl celebrates its own Wood Festival.

Works of art are also created at the Royal Court – but these are culinary works. Niki Rettenbacher is known for his first-class Tennengauer Alpine cheese, a purely natural product made of high-quality organic raw milk. His organic cheese dairy is home to not only a well-stocked farm shop. Visitors can also try their hand at being a Salzburger Alpine summer cheese-maker and then take home their own handmade cheese.
For sporting activities, the mountains in and around Kuchl are ideal. Whether in winter for skiing and sledding, or for hiking in summer.
On warm days, a leap into the Kuchler Bürgerausee lake refreshes. Further attractions such as slack-lining, a beach volleyball court, skate park, and Kneipp bath round off the Bürgerausee recreation area.
