With cable cars Almbahn I and II you overcome an altitude difference of 720 meter (from 630 up to 1350) and arrive in Austrias most beautiful alpine hiking pasture. Choose one of our 7 well signposted roundabout trails including 4 mountain peaks with fantastic panoramic views. Enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountain range from our look-out tower at Schwarzeck. A great experience is our beautiful “waterfall trail”, leading along gorgeous waterfalls and naturally developed basins filled with crystal clear water. Mountain bikers may use the cable cars to easily reach connecting bike trails to Waidring/Steinplatte, Winklmoosalm or to Unken Heutal. Almenwelt is also accessible for handicapped and wheelchair user. Another highlight is the “red marble lake” or our special events with live music, each last Sunday in the months from June to October.
Kids have fun with the exciting “Lofi treasure hunt”, where they can become the “Hunter of the golden or silver treasure”, our big adventure playground, located at mountain station of Almbahn II or the lovely “gnome trail” at middle station.
Tip: One of the most beautiful places to enjoy the sunset is the “red marble lake” at Schönbühel, about 1600 meter above sea level, easily accessible on hiking trail number 4.
