Punch always tastes its best at one of SalzburgerLand’s many alluring advent markets. If you would also like to enjoy some delicious punch at home with friends and family, you can rustle some up yourself quickly and easily! We have two recipes for you here – orange punch (with alcohol) and apple-cinnamon punch (without alcohol).
ORANGE PUNCH RECIPE (WITH ALCOHOL)
Ingredients:
1 litre water and 4 “blood orange” herbal tea bags
1 organic orange
1 litre organic orange juice (or freshly squeezed orange juice)
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
1 teaspoon cloves (whole)
Sugar to taste (approximately 2– 4 tablespoons)
200ml wine (white wine or rosé)
300ml dark rum
Method:
- Bring 1 litre of water to the boil in a pan, add the teabags and let the tea steep.
- In the meantime, wash the organic orange and cut it into pieces.
- Pour the orange juice into the brewed tea.
- Put the pieces of orange into the pan.
- Add the spices (cinnamon, star anise, cloves) to the pan.
- Measure out the wine and rum in a measuring jug and add to the tea.
- Sweeten with sugar according to taste (approximately 2– 4 tablespoons).
- Allow the orange punch to infuse over a low heat and serve up hot.
APPLE-CINNAMON PUNCH (WITHOUT ALCOHOL)
Ingredients:
1 litre water and 4 apple-cinnamon herbal teabags
1 litre organic apple juice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon cloves (whole)
Honey to taste (approximately 2–4 tablespoons)
Method:
- Bring 1 litre water to boil in a pan, add the teabags and let the tea steep.
- Pour the apple juice into the brewed tea.
- Add the spices (cinnamon, cloves) to the pan.
- Sweeten with honey according to taste (approximately 2–4 tablespoons).
- Allow the apple-cinnamon punch to infuse over a low heat and serve up hot.
