Ski fun at Hochkönig
Dienten is centrally located in the Hochkönig ski region, too, the second-largest contiguous ski area in the Alps. And the lifts terminate right in the center of town. Soaring emotions are guaranteed by days of skiing between the majestic Hochkönig peaks, as they are by nighttime sledding expeditions down floodlit toboggan runs. The Königstour in the Hochkönig ski area is a backcountry ski tour that bears comparison with the best-of-the-best, including the Sella Ronda and the Weisser Ring. Five peaks, 32 non-stop kilometers of pistes and 6700 m in elevation make this ski tour an imposing experience indeed. The Marlies Schild Race Hill is a very special piste, located next to the Bürglalmlift in Dienten.
A very special ski slope is the “Marlies Schild Racetrack” at the Bürglalm lift and new from this winter on is the comfortable Gabühel 10-seater cable car.
Sporty Summertime Excursion Tip
Alpine Park Dienten provides an attractive practice area for children, teens and adults. The Kids Fun Park gives youngsters a chance to enjoy their first rock-climbing experiences, without any risk. Visitors are greeted by all kinds of sporting attractions including a zipline, footbridge, high-ropes course, climbing net, slacklines, picnic area with water playground, rock-climbing area with a children’s via ferrata, plus a rock-climbing opportunity up the wall of a dam.
