Hiking with GASTI
The Gastein Valley mascot GASTI embodies the fun, adventure and variety you will enjoy during a summer holiday spent here with your kids. GASTI turns every mountain tour into an adventure. He accompanies families on three themed trails and ensures that there is never a dull moment. The following tours have a maximum walking time of 1.5 hours:
- Legend Trail: What happened to the cheeky shoe-maker? And what was the devil doing in the millrace? On this trail you can learn about the stories and legends that are told here in Dorfgastein. A detour to Klammstein Castle with a visit to the museum is always worthwhile on this tour.
- Bear Trail: Numerous play stations await the little hikers on the way to the Amoseralm. Along this themed trail you can explore a bear cave, find the Glücksplatz or cool your toes in the Kneipp basin.
- Nature discovery trail: How many ants live in a hill? Why does the woodpecker knock on wood? And what is dead wood? Many questions about insects, forests and nature are explained in a child-friendly way on this themed trail. GASTI ensures that play and adventure are not neglected.
But sporty hikers and nature lovers will also find a true paradise in Dorfgastein. The Salzburg Alpine Summer invites you to enjoyable tours – how about a trip to the Paarsee lake, for example? A stop at the rustic huts with home-grown alpine products such as cheese, bacon, bread and butter makes the hike perfect. But the Gastein Valley also has a lot to offer for demanding high-altitude tours and climbers.
