E-BIKE: HOCHKÖNIG REGION

E-BIKING, FLOWTRAILS, AND ROYAL CUISINE

If one were to describe the Hochkönig region as THE e-bike region in the Salzburg Land, it would certainly not be an exaggeration. Because here, not only is there an extensive network of e-bike tours leading deep into the magnificent mountain world. But it was also the first destination worldwide to offer its guests a comprehensive range of charging stations for all common systems. But it's not just with gentle mobility; you can also explore the mountains here with mountain lifts or your own muscle power.

In summer, the Hochkönig region, with the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten, and Mühlbach, is widely known beyond the borders of the country for e-biking and the many opportunities that come with the electric tailwind. Here, e-biking was embraced early on, recognizing the emerging trend long before others. And even though many regions have now also jumped on the e-train, the Hochkönig can still, without exaggeration, claim to be THE e-bike region par excellence. Credit where credit is due!

E-BIKING IN THE HOCHKÖNIG REGION

The beauty of e-biking lies in the ability to adjust the physical exertion individually, allowing access to places in the mountains that were once reserved for elite athletes. To ensure that even far away from civilization, one doesn’t have to constantly worry about battery consumption and the risk of running out of power, here you’ll find the best e-charging network far and wide. Not only in the valley but also atop the mountains, the 24 charging stations are strategically placed, always within reach of all designated e-bike tours.

THE II-TOUR

For those seeking the extraordinary on these bikes, tackling the ii-Tour is an absolute must. This special panoramic tour for e-bikers spans a total of 123 kilometers, leading to various huts, peaks, and panoramic viewpoints. Charge up your batteries and off you go. A must-do for all e-bikers! In addition to the e-charging stations on the alpine pastures and the numerous points of interest, the managed huts play a crucial role in providing the necessary “juice” along the way. While the charging stations replenish the batteries, these huts take care of the bikers’ culinary needs.

Kulinarische Königstouren

The perfect combination of culinary delights and extensive e-bike tours can be found on “Kulinarische Königstouren”. On two tours, hopefully hungry bikers are also gladly accompanied by trained guides, who not only lead them along the most beautiful routes of the region but also to culinary delights in the huts. With the different themes and demands of the two variants “Gipfelstürmer” and “Gipfelglück”, there is guaranteed to be a suitable tour for every taste and fitness level. Both on the bike and on the plate.

Our tip: You can also give the tours as a gift as a voucher, which you can give to special people on special occasions. Who wouldn’t be delighted to receive such a gift?

FLOWTRAILS FOR ADVENTURERS

Here, things should, no, must be fast-paced. That’s when you bravely plunge into one of the four flow trails in the region. Perfect curve radii ensure that you really get into the flow. But every now and then, it’s worth taking a look off the track as well. After all, the trails are located in an environment that has a lot to offer visually.

FLOW ONE-TRAIL IN MARIA ALM

The Flow One-Trail is located in Maria Alm and impresses with a mix of forest and meadow sections. Over 3.3 kilometers, you’ll surf down over 350 meters in altitude. New to it is the 250-meter-long Flow One Tec Sec with plenty of technical features.

FLOWTRAIL HOCHKÖNIG IN DIENTEN

As a pure natural trail, the Hochkönig flowtrail impresses with its harmonious lines. Over 4.2 kilometers, you’ll wind your way down to the valley, covering 550 meters in altitude. And once you reach the bottom? You can conveniently ride back up to the start with the Bürglalmbahn. A trail for the whole family, featuring numerous obstacles and challenges. Caution: highly addictive. Also new is the 250-meter-long Flow One Tec Sec with plenty of technical features.

FLOWTRAIL NANI & MARIDL IN DIENTEN

Two great trails with difficulty levels S1-S2, characterized by root passages and partly tight curves. The entry point is approximately 300 meters above the Bürglalmbahn mountain station. A short pushing section needs to be overcome between the Nani & Mariedl Trail. Attention: Don’t miss the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains amidst all the action.

SKILL AREA – TRAINING GROUNDS & PUMP TRACK IN DIENTEN

Right next to the Bürglalm Bahn mountain station lies the MBT Skill Area. A practice area with a pump track where you can improve your skills and learn new techniques. Featuring North Shore Line, Uphill, Rock Garden, and Flowline.
