Where in the cold season you carve down world-famous slopes, from the thaw of snow, you ride some of the most beautiful bike trails in the country. And leave everyday life down in the valley. Always included: a magnificent panorama of a sea of 3,000-meter peaks.
A sprawling valley floor, lush alpine meadows, forested mountain ridges, and rocky peaks shape Flachau’s landscape. And at the foot of the Kraxenkogel, at the head of Flachauwinkl, the Enns river—Austria’s longest inland river—originates. A region perfectly made for sporty (e-)mountain biking on one hand and gravel bikers on the other. Along with impressive mountain panoramas, expect lots of alpine charm, alpine drama, dreamy trails, numerous tours, and loads of fun.
BIKE REGION FLACHAU
With over 500 varied and well-marked kilometers, the network of trails in Flachau offers challenges and diversity to suit every taste. Numerous e-bike charging stations throughout the region and many cozy huts, alpine pastures, and mountain inns ensure that you never run out of energy while biking. Yet, even down in the valley, the infrastructure includes a bike center with rentals, a mountain bike course, and a pump track facility, all set up to ensure a perfect biking experience.

THE STONEMAN TAURISTA – THE TRAIL SECTION
For those looking for a special challenge, the Stoneman Taurista from June 8 to September 24, 2024, will captivate you. Amidst the Salzburg mountains, the ultimate mountain bike challenge awaits with 123 kilometers and a massive 4,500 meters of elevation along idyllic alpine valleys, sparkling mountain lakes, and panoramic peaks. It offers an incomparable natural experience and the overwhelming 360° alpine panorama of the region included.
In 2024, the Stoneman Taurista, besides the usual highlights, will feature a completely new section. This section runs from Flachau through Wagrain to Kleinarl and continues along a forest road towards Penkkopf up to the Kleinarler hut. Then follows a trail passage to Kurzeggalm. Here, a new checkpoint is also passed. The route returns to Kleinarl via parts of the Hirschleiten trail. It then leads via the Brandstattweg to the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack, and with breathtaking panoramas, it continues via the Baierwaldstraße and the Edelweißalm back to Flachau.
