Since 2011, Nina Radman has been keeping her readers up to date on what she likes. At the beginning, the blog Berries & Passion was only a playground for the beautiful things in life, but today it is one of the most successful blogs in Austria. And Nina? She is a traditional Viennese and writes about her life and her travels – also outside of the capital. Over three sunny winter days, she journeyed into the mountains – and this time to Gastein. Of course, with her dog Tobi!
Nina’s insider tips in the Gastein Valley: two peaks, one valley
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, even for bloggers. To get a view of the whole Gastein Valley, Nina went up to lofty heights on the Kreuzkogel. After an approximately twenty-minute gondola ride, there was a brief irritation – no sign of a restaurant. As Nina shortly found out, that was also a good thing as the summit breakfast was served in a former weather station. The advantage? The spherical architecture allowed a 360° view of the surrounding mountains. Breath-taking and so tasty!
All the happiness in the world is located on the back of… Huskies.
Nina loves dogs. What could be better then, than to hop on a dog sled and to ride around a trail with Huskies? For Nina, the sleigh ride with four legged friends was a premiere: “To go dog sledding is a childhood dream of mine. I have always wanted to do that, but it has never happened until now.” The conclusion after just a few laps with the Huskies? “I totally underestimated how quickly the dogs run. It was most definitely my absolute highlight”
Above the clouds
… or at least almost – on the Stubnerkogel one swings on the panorama bridge over a breath-taking valley. The bridge runs about 140 metres from one end to the other. If you dare to go across, you should not be afraid of heights as the bridge is located at 2,300 metres above sea level. Fun Fact: it is the first bridge to be built at such a height. It includes a picture-point for the Instagram album. A dream come true for bloggers and Instagrammers.
