At the Goldegg alpine huts, you can enjoy delicious food with a wonderful view – each alpine hut has its own specialty and all of them are worth savouring. You can reach the alpine pastures by hiking or by bike. For a convenient journey, e-mountain bikes are available for rent at the tourist office.
Naturally, a refreshing dive into the lake is ideal while sunbathing on a relaxing day.
The Goldegg Golf Club is another special experience with its 18-hole championship course, which boasts breathtaking views and challenging layouts.
ART & CULTURE AT GOLDEGG CASTLE
Goldegg Castle, dating back to the 14th century, is mirrored in the Moor Lake that lies at its feet and nestles against the church and the historic village center.

GOLDEGG CASTLE
from the 14th century. Reflects in the Moor Lake, which lies at its feet, and adjoins the church and the historic village center. The castle has magnificent rooms, some of which have been preserved in their original state, and the magnificent Knights’ Hall with its wood paneling. The castle houses a café, the painting academy, the cultural association, and a local history museum. Guided tours are possible to get an insight into the past culture of the citizens and farmers. The comprehensive cultural program includes concerts of all genres, exhibitions of regional & internationally renowned artists, lectures and readings, cabarets, theatrical performances, and much more.
PARISH CHURCH: First mentioned in 1339, with an early gothic crucifixion fresco (around 1330).
SHEPHERD’S CHAPEL
The Shepherd’s Chapel on the Meislstein was inaugurated in 1999 and lies a mere 20-minute walking distance from the Meislsteinalm. Its interior conceals artistic carvings by a local sculptor. From the chapel, you have a view of the mighty Hochkönig massif in the north and the Hohe Tauern mountains in the south. A genuine spiritual place, inviting you to pause for a moment of reflection to regain your energy.
