“European Village” Grossarl (elev. 920 m) is the main town in the ca. 30 km-long Grossarltal valley, and boasts around 3800 permanent residents. The town center is located approximately in the center of the valley, making it an ideal starting point for many beautiful hikes to the numerous surrounding huts, which has earned the valley its nickname as “The Valley of Mountain Huts”.
The highest point is the Frauenkogel at 2,424 meters, which dominates the southern skyline. You will be left wishing for nothing when it comes to the other recreational opportunities, too, including a new recreation center that features:
