Summer holidays in Austria are automatically associated with hiking and also with swimming when the weather is right. Rußbach is ideal for both of these.
Take the Hornbahn up the mountain to Bruno´s Mountain World. The giant ant Emma and the bear Bruno await little hikers. Together, they go through the informative Alpine flower garden, the swing forest and the refreshing mountain water.

If swimming is desired instead of hiking in the hot summer weather, the Rußbach Waterpark provides everything a child’s heart desires. The children’s canoe route is a great deal of fun. The large natural swimming pool with a waterfall boasts a fully organic operation. Instead of using Chlorine, the water is cleaned by the vegetation.

Insider’s Tip: In the summer months you can embark on a treasure hunt every Thursday, with a skilled guide, in the Valley of the Fossils with its famous Snail Wall. Russbach is known for its fossil snail stones and the well in the village square is built entirely from snail stones.

The Dachstein-West ski-region attracts skiers in winter with 119km of perfectly groomed slopes and 61 modern lifts. Children and beginners will find a great training ground in the Bear Camp. Little non-skiers are lovingly looked after in the Sparrow’s Nest.
