The whole trail in one piece

27 days - 26 overnight stays - 25 stages

This is the supreme discipline of long-distance hiking: hiking the whole trail in one piece. From start to finish. A truly huge undertaking, as the Salzburger Almenweg involves a whopping 361 km of hiking, over 20,000 meters of ascent and at least 25 daily stages. "Thru hiking" is what the Americans call these "expeditions on your doorstep" on their great trails, such as the Appalachian Trail or the Pacific Crest Trail.

So why not set yourself big goals on the Salzburger Almenweg too? Set off on the long trail from the start and finish point in Werfen, take a conscious break and arrive back in Werfen after around a month. As if transformed, rich in unforgettable experiences and inspiring encounters!

Curious to find out more? The Trail Angels at the Official Info & Booking Center will be happy to help you plan this great adventure. And of course, you can also split this undertaking into several sections to suit your time requirements. The Salzburger Almenweg is simply waiting to be hiked in its entire impressive length!
