In SalzburgerLand, we live in one of the most fascinating natural landscapes in the world. We have legendary peaks and fantastic ski resorts. We also have great athletes, real stars and role models. We are aware of these privileges and we manage them as a precious heritage. A heritage that we are happy to share with people who in turn live our passion and fascination for winter sports.
And so, we are very happy that the world will once again be looking at SalzburgerLand for this coming winter’s FIS Alpine Ski World Championships Saalbach 2025. This means we have a sporting event of superlatives in store. Become a part of it! Be inspired and become a fan yourself.
Everything is set for the most spectacular FIS Alpine Ski World Championships ever! From 4th to 16th February 2025, the winter sports resort of Saalbach will once again be transformed into an international stage for the best and bravest skiers of the hour. This means that the winter sports circus is returning to where it created skiing history back in 1991. 34 years after the legendary “Sun World Championships”, the Zwölferkogel will once again become the hub of this mega sporting event in 2025, under the motto “One mountain – all competitions”. Spectators and fans, along with winter sports enthusiasts, guests and locals will thus all be very close to the action.
Would you also like to ski, where the best of the best fight for their podium places? The FIS Alpine Ski World Championships Saalbach 2025 makes it possible. The ski ticket becomes an admission ticket, the slope becomes an open-air grandstand. Ski, stop, cheer!
It is no coincidence that SalzburgerLand, after Bad Gastein and Saalbach Hinterglemm, will once again be the venue for an FIS Alpine Ski World Championships. Here, where the love of winter sports is literally passed on from one generation to the next, and where the best skiers of all time are at home. These include Annemarie Moser-Pröll, Hermann Maier and Alexandra Meissnitzer, to name just a few. Both ski athletes and ski fans find here the very best conditions. The eight-time overall World Cup winner, world record holder and entrepreneur Marcel Hirscher says about his home, SalzburgerLand: “Anyone who has two eyes in their head can see how impressively beautiful this landscape is. That’s one thing. The other is that when these events take place, it’s clear that they belong right here. Here in SalzburgerLand, winter sports have a history and a long tradition which are lived with soul and spirit. I’ve also participated in events in places that were created just out of thin air. In such places, you don’t really feel anything there. Unlike in SalzburgerLand, where the love of winter sports is found in every fibre. That’s what makes this the best place for these events.”
