Further south, high clouds will often obscure the sun. In the warm, humid air, widespread showers and thunderstorms ? some of them heavy ? will develop during the afternoon and may spread from the south-west to large parts of the country as the day progresses. On Saturday, unsettled and changeable weather will prevail, and it will be cooler than it has been recently. Throughout the day, there will be frequent showers, and from midday onwards, localised thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the inner Alpine regions. These may at times be quite heavy. In between, the sun may break through from time to time. In the morning, there will still be a fairly brisk north-westerly wind, but this will ease off as the day progresses. Lows: 12 to 18 degrees, highs: 20 to 25 degrees.

On Sunday, the changeable, unsettled and rather cool summer weather will continue. The sun may still make an appearance in the morning, but around midday a cold front will bring frequent rain and localised thunderstorms. Towards the evening, the skies will clear again from the north. The wind will be brisk from the north-west, and strong in the Flachgau region as the front arrives. Lows: 9 to 15 degrees, highs: 19 to 23 degrees.

Monday is likely to bring pleasant weather. The sun will often shine, before cumulus clouds start to build up from midday onwards, leading to isolated showers. It is likely to remain mostly dry in the Flachgau. A brisk north-westerly wind will be blowing. Lowest temperatures: 7 to 12 degrees; highest temperatures: 19 to 23 degrees.
