A summer holiday in the Wildkogel Arena is a real highlight for young and old mountain sports enthusiasts alike. Where in winter skiers and snowboarders swing on perfectly groomed slopes, in summer there are numerous well-marked routes in the high-altitude hiking area of the Wildkogel. An incredible view of the three thousand metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern and over the Salzach Valley awaits those seeking relaxation on the Wildkogel panorama trail. A leisurely ascent is made with the summer cable cars in the Wildkogel Arena. The Wildkogel cable car in Neukirchen and the Smaragdbahn in Bramberg ensure a gentle ascent to the starting point of the high-altitude hikes at over 2000 m, bike routes and viewing points.

Hiking and biking

But the valleys of the Hohe Tauern National Park also invite you to take extensive tours – treasure hunters are drawn to the Emerald Trail to dig for emeralds in the Bramberg Habachtal, true wilderness fans marvel at guided national park hikes into the original wilderness area in the Untersulzbach Valley or hike along the Venedigerweg to the Obersulzbach Valley. With the Neukirchen and Bramberg guest card you can hire buggies, prams and hiking boots free of charge on site. Mountain bikers and e-bikers will find a real Eldorado with impressive nature experiences in the National Park valleys and sunny side valleys of Mühlbachtal, Dürnbach- and Trattenbachtal. Or you can simply combine cycling with hiking for unforgettable “Bike & Hike” experiences.

Family Highlights

Families go on an adventurous voyage of discovery in the Wildkogel Arena. The wooden playground of the Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena awaits you right at the top station with fun play stations. An unforgettable sliding experience – not only for children – is promised by the slide path, which leads between the middle station of the Wildkogel lift on 10 slides of up to 53 m in length down to the Stockenbaum Inn. The four-kilometre-long mountain-cart track from the top station of the Smaragdbahn to the middle station is even faster. A downhill run on the winding route with the off-road carts ensures great fun and repeat runs are pre-programmed! With the weekly Wildkogel-Active programme, there is certainly no chance of boredom for young and old holidaymakers alike.
