Active nature lovers and family-oriented guests really value Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen & Bramberg for its extensive hiking areas up in the mountains. Special highlights for the whole family include the Slide Path and a four kilometers-long track for mountain go-karts. And thanks to the National Park SummerCard, one roundtrip lift ride on the Wildkogelbahn or Smaragdbahn is included for free. Meanwhile, the Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena – a playground with wooden equipment – is particularly popular with the kids. Stroller-friendly footpaths, scenic hiking loops, easy-to-moderate summit tours, and numerous designated trails for bikers and e-bikers on the Wildkogel are just waiting to be discovered.
Right next to the top station of the Wildkogelbahn lifts, Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena is an absolute thrill for young visitors: a gigantic wooden playground with an eagle’s nest, marble track, and the Goliath Swing. On the giant trampoline, the kids will literally be jumping for joy. As soon as you are done there, the next Wildkogel adventure already beckons: the Panorama Path, leading from the mountain station (elev. 2091 m) down to the mid-station (1644 m), punctuated by magnificent lookout points along the way. There at the mid-station, you will also find the start of the Slide Path, featuring a series of ten stainless-steel slides, each between 22 and 53 meters in length. One of them promises a breathtaking, freefall effect. From the end of the Slide Path next to Gasthof Stockenbaum, a pleasant hiking path leads you on a leisurely 45-minute walk back to Neukirchen in the valley below.
By hopping aboard the Smaragdbahn lift in Bramberg, daredevils will be able to float in complete comfort to the top of the mountain go-karting track. Get ready for a winding, four kilometers-long ride on these all-terrain, three-wheeler go-karts. A fun-filled, exhilarating adventure on the Wildkogel just begging to be repeated over and over again.
However, there are also other ways to get back to the valley from the Smaragdbahn mountain station. One tip is the Smaragdbahn Path, leading as far as the Smaragdbahn mid-station. The “Wildkogel tipps2go” app is a free guide from Bergbahnen Wildkogel providing live, up-to-date information from the Wildkogel-Arena.
